“Lovers Silken Web”

by Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights
2006 song

Sky Saxon, recalling the cover art of The Seeds’ 1966 LP A Web Of Sound, likens the world of men and women to a spider web on the 2006 song "Lovers Silken Web", recorded with guitarist Ken Dembinski. (The song is also known merely as "Lovers Silken".)

Dembinski’s guitar is meaty and sharp, slicing hard through the song and dominating the sound. Sky Saxon, however, has his voice mixed high enough so it isn’t shoved out of the way by the music. The overall feel of "Lovers Silken Web" is heavy rock but played by a mere duo; there is a rhythm track (also performed by Dembinski) but it’s the guitar and Sky’s cosmic, psychedelic poetry and fatigued singing that share center stage.

"Lovers Silken Web" was released by Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights on the album Tyrants In The House.
