“Darlin”

by Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights
2006 song

“Should I build you a shrine when you don’t even believe in my Father God?” demands a scandalized Sky Saxon on his song "Darlin", released on the 2006 CD Tyrants In The House and credited to Sky Sunlight Saxon and Flights. The song, recorded with guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Ken Dembinski, is bright and chipper, following a simple two-chord pattern and given shape by its busy chiming guitars working overtime.

As do several songs on Tyrants In The House, "Darlin" finds Sky in a reflective mood; he isn’t yelling about dogs and the pretty blue sky but he is fixated on more personal and better-defined matters. Very simple and pleasant pop-rock from a master of cosmic communication.
